Prayer at dawn...

Lights break
gulls cry
scent of fir
so goes life
by and by.

Daily miracle
rhythmic renewal
prayers of priests
dances of fools.

I breath today
heart cooly beats
humble eyes to heaven
my feet hit the streets.

Hope my partner
courage my love;
fear not grins from hell
for Grace flows from above.

To create...

You sing of Freedom
and protest with your flock;
but never was a loaf of bread
made with a rock...

Rudderless...

A gentle breeze
distant summer eve wind;
vessel at bay
came the great white`s fin.

His shadow I saw
and then came the dance;
might of jagged white dagger
steered by death`s cold black glance.

As thunder he hit me
the timbers did split;
to the depths did he vanish
alone here I sit.

My skiff gentle rocked
by waves tender swell;
my eyes look to heaven
as my soul peers to hell.

The seams they do leak
my boat starboard lists;
i should stand to bail
but i feel thru the mists.

It`s coming
he seeks me
darkness swims from the deep;
on deck do i recline
peaceful slumber
cool cool sleep.

I wrote this poem in Victoria, Canada,
while sitting on the steps of the harbor bay.
It is about accepting death.
